I think it is an East versus West thing. There seems to be this shame to aging in the West - like somehow our bodies have failed us. Eastern cultures have historically respected the elders - the older you are the wiser. Also culturally in the East asking someone how old they are is an accepted practice. Not so here. I for one have never understood wanting to be older when we are young, and pretending to be younger as we age. I do not lie about my age - every year is hard earned.

Love Mad Men - such a clever show of a place and time. Have not watched any of the ones on your list. Am in a lull right now looking for the next series to get into.

So far it has been great. It is really amazing how once I pick my word for the year and set my intention, life seems to offer me so many ways to dive deeper.

It is incredible how a little appreciation goes a long way. I have a similar story with one of my neighbors, and took them bagels and cream cheese as a thank you. I think it makes everyone feel good about the exchange - the one doing the kind thing and the one showing some appreciation.

Pam,

The aphorism on lust I couldn't think of that night is by Mae West:

Sex with love is a wonderful thing; sex without love... well, that ain't so bad either.

Thanks for coming to the talk!
